<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an alicyclic carboxylic acid or its derivative, particularly a carboxylic ester by selective hydrogenation of the corresponding aromatic carboxylic acid (derivative) in reactors in which at least first two reactors are operated in a loop type and at least three reactors are connected in series. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for producing the corresponding alicyclic carboxylic acid or its derivative by selectively hydrogenating an aromatic carboxylic acid or its derivative in a hydrogenation apparatus in which at least three reactors are connected in series, at least first two reactors are operated in loop type. As a result, hydrogenation method of the aromatic carboxylic acid or its derivative excellent in a space time yield and/or selectivity and capable of being used directly or by slight refining expense can be achieved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
