CONFERENCE SERVER, CLIENT TERMINAL DEVICE FOR TELECONFERENCING, SPEED ADJUSTING METHOD, AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform teleconferencing at an optimum transmission rate by a teleconferencing system using a network whose transmission rate frequently varies.

SOLUTION: Each client 1 measures the reception rate of data received from another client at all the times during a conference and transmits the measurement result of the reception rate and its transmission rate to a conference server 2. The conference server 2 calculates a proper transmission rate of each client 1 from the acquired transmission speed of the transmission-side client 1 and the reception rate of a corresponding reception-side client 1 according to a predetermined rule. The conference server 2 instructs a plurality of clients 1 to set the calculated transmission rate. Each client transmits data of the teleconferencing at the setting-designated transmission rate.
