<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical laser apparatus with which a high output visible laser beam is obtainable, even if a wavelength conversion element with a low damage threshold is used. <P>SOLUTION: The medical laser apparatus, which makes a laser beam irradiate the diseased tissues and treat it, is equipped with a laser beam source to emit a laser beam with a spectral width in an infrared region; a wavelength dispersion optical system to spatially disperse the wavelength of the laser beam from the laser beam source; a wavelength conversion optical system, having the wavelength conversion elements which are arranged corresponding to optical path positions of respective wavelengths of laser beams, resulting from dispersion via the wavelength dispersion optical system and convert the respective wavelength beams to second harmonics; a wavelength multiplexing optical system for multiplexing the respective second harmonics, resulting from conversion via the wavelength conversion optical system; and an optical waveguide optical system for guiding the multiplexed laser beam to the diseased tissues of a patient. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
