PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an effective setting operation method of a recorded image system in an electronic image pickup device. SOLUTION: The electronic image pickup device includes; a setting picture display means for displaying a matrix of combinations of recording conditions; a calculation means for calculating a writable memory capacity and calculating the allowable number of images to be recorded or the allowable number of seconds of recording, which accords with the writable memory capacity and a condition; a preview means for displaying a calculation result while dynamically changing it; and a setting means for performing setting on the basis of items directly selected from the matrix.
