Medical imaging method for imaging a periodically moving object area, e.g. heart or lungs in which, a general image data record is created that images the movement of the object area, at least two positions are marked in the object area, these positions are interpolated to other points in time from the recorded images and fininally the moving object area is imaged using actual marked positions and interpolated positions.
