PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface light emitting laser element having a double-channel current injection structure. SOLUTION: The surface light emitting laser element has the double-channel current injection structure. The double-channel current injection structure comprises a first current injection channel Ch1 that injects current toward the center of an opening that is the light emission region of an active layer 13, and has a diameter that is smaller than the opening; and a second current injection channel Ch2 that injects current toward the edge of the opening and is positioned outside the opening radially.
