<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a viewing window cover which can be easily retrofitted to an existing viewing window. <P>SOLUTION: An oval cover 3 with a diameter-reduced part 3b and a diameter-enlarged part 3c is pivotally supported on a cylindrical base member 2 which is composed of a magnet, and magnetically attached directly above the viewing window S of an indoor surface of a steel door D. In the nonuse of the viewing window S, the viewing window S is closed with the diameter-enlarged part 3c by turning the cover 3 downward, so that an indoor side cannot be seen from the outside. When in use, the cover 3 is turned upward to open the viewing windows S. Thus, the viewing window cover can be easily retrofitted to the existing viewing window S, and the base member 2 is composed of the magnet.
