PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable radio terminal which can display a horizontally long video image and the key operation of which is easy even when a screen is arranged as a horizontally long screen. SOLUTION: A terminal body 1 is provided with a first casing 10 in which operation keys 11 are arranged, a second casing 20 in which a display 21 with a screen having prescribed aspect ratio is arranged, and a coupling mechanism 4 for mutually coupling both the cabinets 10, 20. The coupling mechanism 4 is provided with a pivotally support mechanism 5 for rotating the second cabinet 20 with respect to the first cabinet 10, with a point other than the center point of the screen as a rotary axis, along a surface parallel to the screen, and a support plate 70 for supporting the pivotally support mechanism 5. The second casing 20 is provided with a support plate housing chamber 23 in which the support plate 70 is housed, and the support plate housing chamber 23 is provided with a slide mechanism for sliding the pivotally support mechanism 5 in a longitudinal direction of the screen, within the support plate housing chamber. The screen can be disposed either in a first screen arrangement form where the screen becomes vertically long, or in a second screen arrangement form where the screen becomes horizontally long, and the screen in the second screen arrangement form can be slid in the longitudinal direction of the screen.
