PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To supply a bit stream of a compressed digital video signal and a signal, representing the operation state of a digital reproducing apparatus from the digital reproducing apparatus to a receiver. SOLUTION: This reproducing system supplies a bit stream (221) of a compressed digital video signal and a signal representing the operation state of a digital reproducing apparatus to a receiver (100). This system comprises: the digital reproducing apparatus (220) which processes the compressed digital video signal recorded in a record medium and generates the bit stream (221) of the compressed digital video signal; a text message signal generator (270) which generates a text message (271) added a tag representing the operation state of the digital reproducing apparatus; and a face port (210) which receives the bit stream and the text message signal and supplies them via a data bus (112) to the receiver.
