PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of performing the correction of an object distance or the autofocusing for an object quickly and exactly irrespective of brightness and darkness of photographing circumstances and to provide a program for the imaging apparatus. SOLUTION: Fig. (a)-(d) are object display frames corresponding to respective portrait photography modes and distance information corresponding to the respective portrait photography modes is stored in a distance information tables of a memory 9 (refer to Fig. (e)). When a user selects a portrait photography mode, an object display frame corresponding to the selected portrait photography mode is displayed on an image display part 12. The user can adjust the object to be photographed to the object display frame while observing the object display frame (refer to Fig. (f)). Then, when the shutter button is depressed, the distance information corresponding to the selected portrait photography mode is read from the distance information table and a focus lens is driven based on the readout distance information.
