PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vegetation base material obtained by recycling woody wastes helpful to favorable growth of tree plants as well as grass plants for a long time: and to provide a greening method using the vegetation base material. SOLUTION: The vegetation base material contains porous material comprising (1) unfermented crushed plant pieces, (2) chemical fertilizer, (3) dry fungus body fertilizer as slow-acting organic nitrogen fertilizer, and (4) granular porous material.
