The sensor has a sensor (15) integrated in a soleplate (1) of a cutting tool and stressed by the end of a tap (14) for tapping. A displacement multiplier device (16) stressed by the sensor (15) amplifies the displacement of the sensor (15). A power cable (17) is coupled at an end (17a) to the device. A position detection unit (18) detects the position of an end (17b) of the cable. - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a cutting tool with integrated tapping.
