PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an illumination source which is simple and advantageous in a cost, and provide the illumination source in which an improvement is made so that life time is extended by improving joining between a glass or a ceramic member of the illumination source and adjacent and each constituting parts.

SOLUTION: This is the manufacturing method of the illumination source, and the illumination source having at least one glass or ceramic member and at least one carrier member wherein the glass or ceramic member and the carrier member are made to be mutually joined by a foamed metal in the joining region.
