PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microstrip line waveguide converter capable of reducing reflection losses at an input end and an output end, even if a coupling hole is not formed in a dielectric layer. SOLUTION: The microstrip line waveguide converter 1 leads an electromagnetic wave propagating on a microstrip line 10 via a coupling hole 70 to a waveguide to be connected 90. The reflection losses at the input end I and the output end O can be reduced by adjusting the length or width of a stub provided at the tip of a line conductor 12, the length of a projection of the line conductor 12 projecting into the coupling hole 70, the width of the stop of a reactance stop formed in a patterned layer 32, the distance d from the patterned layer 32 up to a short-circuiting board 64, and so on.
