A device for immersing a container (12, 13) in an immersion bath (2, 21) for heating foodstuffs comprises a support arm (5, 7, 8) which can be driven and to which the containers can be secured by means of a container carrier. A controller is provided to swivel the support arm (5, 7, 8) in order to immerse the containers in the immersion bath (2, 21) or to align them flush with the surface (17) of the device. The controller comprises a control unit connected to a heating device, a temperature sensor and a water inlet valve. When a threshold value is exceeded by a temperature signal from the temperature sensor, the water inlet valve is closed, preventing water from entering the immersion bath. |
