PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element containing a scan line formed between ITO layers in parallel to the ITO layers and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescent element comprises an indium tin oxide layer (ITO layer) 200, a metal electrode layer 202, and a data line 206 as well as a scan line 208. A plurality of sub pixels are formed at a light-emitting region 204 where the ITO layer 200 and the metal layer 202 cross each other. The data line 206 is connected to the ITO layer 200 respectively, The scan line 208 crosses the metal electrode layer 202 between the ITO layers 200 and is formed in parallel to the ITO layers 200 and an insulating substance is vapor deposited on the region excluding the connection region 210. Since the scan line 208 is formed between the ITO layers 200, the element has a margin for a portion of space where the conventional scan line was formed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
