METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MULTICAST COMMUNICATION IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION NETWORKS

A multicast communication method to be executed by a network system, for supporting Peer-to-Peer (P2P) communication mode, comprising: receiving a multicast request from a sender UE, which contains ID information of multiple receiver UEs; determining whether P2P communication direct link between the sender UE and each of the receiver UEs meet requirements for establishing multicast communication, according to the multicast request; assigning corresponding radio resource to the sender UE and each of the receiver UEs if the requirements for establishing multicast communication are met, so that each of the receiver UEs can receive the traffic data from the sender UE.
