FIELD: mechanical engineering; exhaust gas converters. ^ SUBSTANCE: proposed converter contains housing with double walls and inlet and outlet branch pipes, heat insulation placed between housing walls and reaction chamber. Swirler made in form of plate bent to helix is installed in inlet branch pipe. Reaction chamber accommodates ring-shaped limiter, soot filter unit and ceramic three-component converter arranged in series in direction of flow. Soot filter unit consists of concentric cylindrical cermet filtering elements whose number "n" is determined by formula provided in description of invention. ^ EFFECT: reduced backpressure in exhaust system, increased service life of filter owing to uniform distribution of soot on filtering surfaces, increased area of filtering surface. ^ 2 cl, 2 dwg |
