<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer satisfying at least two characteristics in such the characteristics as having orientation such as homeotropic, having orientation with no (or slight) defect, having large optical anisotropy, adhering to supporting substrate, having sufficient hardness, being colorless and transparent, having high heat resistance, and having high weather resistance; and to provide a composition of a precursor thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The polymer contains a diacrylate compound (1) containing a specific liquid crystalline group, a fluorinated diacrylate compound (2) having a specified liquid crystalline group, and an acrylate compound having a specific liquid crystalline group.
