<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input apparatus or damping structure of a rolling element which can prevent or efficiently reduce influences of magnet near the rolling element and size increase of which can be suppressed or prevented. <P>SOLUTION: In the input apparatus, when an electromagnet 86 inside a housing operates, magnetic powder 96 housed inside a hollow ball 42 is attracted downward by magnetic force of the electromagnet 86. The magnetic power 96 is attracted downward like this, and then, the ball 42 is pressed against each shaft 40 of supporting bodies 30, 32, and 34 which support the ball 42 so that it can roll.
