<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for managing confidential information that can prevent unauthorized acquisition of confidential information. <P>SOLUTION: A view data management system 1 for storing and managing view data comprising information contents and a tag representing a class name thereof about a plurality of individuals comprises an ID management server 50 and a view data management server 70. The ID management server 50 receives a plurality of kinds of view data whose contents are encrypted with a public key from each individual via the Internet 2, adds IDs to the tags of the plurality of kinds of received view data, associates and stores the IDs and the tags about each individual, encrypts the ID-added view data with the public key and sends them to the view data management server 70 via an in-house LAN 3 on a tag basis.
