<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game apparatus which enables the players to ideally carry out the operation for updating the "images to be displayed on the game screen" related to the execution of the prescribed processing and the operation for inputting the "position on the game screen" related to the execution of the prescribed processing. <P>SOLUTION: The area guide images to be displayed on the game screen are updated from the position information which is acquired from the contents of the operations made by the players to indicate the positions on the game screen. It is judged whether the position information acquired and the display area of the area guide images in the game screen satisfy the given conditions or not. According to the result of the judgment, the updating of the area guide images is restricted.
