PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which a drum driving gear on the image forming apparatus main body side can always be made in phase with a drum gear for the photoreceptor drum to be engaged with the above driving gear by a simple structure, and to provide the photoreceptor drum used for the image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: the drum gear 33a arranged at one end of the photoreceptor drum; a drum gear rotating body 33d which is adjacent to the drum gear 33a, and rotates together with the drum gear 33a; the drum driving gear 61a which has gear teeth as many as that of the drum gear 33a, and which is engaged with the drum gear 33a; and a drum driving gear rotating body 61d which is adjacent to the drum driving ear 61a in a position facing the drum gear rotating body 33d, and which rotates together with the drum driving gear 61a, a projection 33e is arranged in a part of the peripheral edge of the drum gear rotating body 33d, and a recessed part 61e is arranged in a part of the peripheral edge of the drum driving gear rotating body 61d, and by engaging the projection 33e with the recessed part 61e, the drum gear 33a is made in phase with the drum driving gear 61a.
