PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable even a photographer to easily visually recognize what information a subject is receiving and in what state a camera is while holding the camera. SOLUTION: A ring light emission control section 35 controls illumination (extinction), blinking cycles, and a light emission color of a ring light emission section 36 provided around a lens 11 under the control of a control section 30 to inform the subject of an AF state and the remaining time before the shutter is released during self-timer photographing and also use the illumination as flash auxiliary light.
