PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device capable of displaying satisfactory help information without requiring a special operation, regardless of the quantity of help information which an accessory has. SOLUTION: Help information which cannot be displayed on the accessory side, out of help information stored in the accessory is transferred to the image pickup device side through a communication means.
