PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a container conveying apparatus which can much more efficiently convey a stack of containers than the case of man power because the stack of containers can be automatically and repeatedly conveyed. SOLUTION: The container conveying apparatus comprises a container holding mechanism 11 having a container holding device 21 capable of holding the container stack 2 formed by piling up containers 6, and a position control mechanism 12 capable of conveying the container holding mechanism 11. According to its one aspect, the container holding device 21 comprises long members 71, 72, 112 to 115, 118, 119, 143 having a container stack holding portion, and the long members are mounted and supported at their intermediate portions in the longitudinal directions by means of fixing portions 75 to 77, 111, 141. By this configuration, the transportation of the stack 2 of the containers can be automatically and repeatedly conveyed out. As a result, the transportation can be much more efficiently conveyed out than the case where the stack 2 of the containers is conveyed by man power. Further, according to the one aspect described above, because the stack 2 of the containers arranged sideways in a case 1 can be relatively easily held by means of the container holding device 21, the intrusion of litter and dust into the uppermost container 6 of the stack 2 of the containers can be much more effectively prevented than in the well-known apparatuses for conveying containers.
