PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide ultra-capacitive tantalum powder, relating to tantalum powder, to a pressed and sintered anode obtained from this tantalum powder and to a method for producing the tantalum powder. SOLUTION: Crude tantalum powder having a primary particle size of 100 to 400 nm, obtained by reduction of potassium heptafluorotantalate with sodium in an inert salt melt, is subjected to reducing agglomeration at 600 to 950°C in the presence of hydrogen. By this method, the tantalum powder, from which a capacitor having 80,000 to 120,000μFV/g specific capacitance at a residual current of <5 nA/μFV can be obtained by the application of sintering at 1,200°C for 10 min and compaction at 16V, can be produced.
