[Also in Division E1] An article of fibre-reinforced plastics material has one end of a fastening strip element embedded therein, the strip being twisted so that its free end is in a plane which is substantially perpendicular to the plane of the strip where it emerges from the article. The strip which may be of metal, e.g. aluminium or steel or of glass fabric is embedded during moulding of the article and may be roughened to improve the " keying." The article may comprise a flat or angularly bent sheet of polymethyl methacrylate upon which a layer of fibre reinforced polyester resin is built-up by spraying. |
