The switching arrangement has a switching unit (2) which bridges double layer capacitors (1). A control unit (4) is provided for monitoring the operating condition of capacitors which actuates switching unit depending upon two operating conditions. An independent claim is also included for the method for actuating two switchable double layer capacitors.
