<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image with good granularity in all gradation ranges by setting density of a light color material to be most appropriate when an image is formed by using two types of color materials which are dark and light. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus forms the image by dark and light dots by two types of color material of dark and light. The apparatus is provided with a Bk/Lk distributing part 303 which sets the color material density of the light dots so that a first degree of granularity when recording ratio of the light dots is varied from 0% to 100% in a state that the recording ratio of the dark dots is 0%, and a second degree of granularity when recording ratio of the dark dots is varied from 0% to 100% in a state that the recording ratio of the light dots is 100% are approximately equivalent to each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
