PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shelf board for a baking furnace usable favorably in baking a vitreous sintered body at low cost. SOLUTION: This shelf board 100 for a roller hearth furnace is provided with a stainless steel board 101 and a coating layer 102 formed on the stainless steel board 101. The stainless steel board 101 is formed by ferrite stainless steel, that is, to explain in detail, SUS 430 which does not contain nickel, contains chrome of 16.0 to 18.0 mass%, whose coefficient of thermal expansion is 12.8×10<SP>-6</SP>(1/°C), and whose thermal conductivity is 0.023 kJ/(s m k). The coating layer 102 is formed by glass and aluminum oxide, and a glass region 102a is formed in an discontinuous manner by providing an aluminum oxide region 102b in the glass region.
