PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress eccentricity and lateral load of an armature arranged in a coil of a solenoid operation valve to the minimum extent. SOLUTION: A solenoid operated valve assembly 10 has the armature 36 disposed within the coil 26 axially between a first and a second flux collectors 22 and 34. The flux director 53 surrounding the armature 36 has annular parts 58 thereof contacting one of the flux collectors and has a plurality of fingers 60 spaced circumferentially about the annular part 58 and extending inwardly toward the armature 36 to increase and distribute the flux there for minimizing magnetic side loading due to eccentricity of the armature 36.
