FIELD: veterinary science. ^ SUBSTANCE: the present innovation deals with the ways to regulate the rate of hair growth in dogs and cats, treat and prevent poor hair growth and alopecia in animals in case of such a problem caused by any disease, reproductive cycle, seasonal alterations or direct hair removal. It includes animal feeding at selenium quantity to regulate hair growth corresponding to about 0.5-4.5 mg/kg food against dry matter in dogs, cats or sheep.
