<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading method and an image reading device capable of surely reading an image of an image reading target with good operability. <P>SOLUTION: This image reading method reading an image reading target brought into tight contact with a reading part by line for acquiring an image of the image reading target is provided with a line number determination procedure, in which it is determined whether the number of image acquisition lines reaches a specified line number or not, and an image reading target detection procedure, in which separation of the image reading target from the reading part is recognized when a first line number of separations of the image reading target from the reading part is detected if the number of the image acquisition lines does not reach the specified line number in the line number determination procedure, while separation of the image reading target from the reading part is recognized when a second line number of separations of the image reading target from the reading part is detected if the number of the image acquisition lines reaches the specified line number. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
