<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for controlling operation of a compressor capable of operating the compressor stably and capable of preventing unnecessary waste of a current and an over current when an operation mode is changed and quickly changing the operation mode of the compressor. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for controlling the operation of the compressor includes a controller (not shown) generating a control signal for selecting an operation mode of the compressor according to an operation load on the compressor, a first switching unit 17 connected to a motor 18 composed of a main coil 19 and a sub-coil 20 and selecting the main coil 19 or the main coil 19 and the sub-coil 20 according to the control signal, a first capacitor 16 and a second capacitor 21 electrically connected to the first switching unit 17, and a second switching unit 22 connected to the first capacitor 16 and selectively connecting the first capacitor 16 in parallel to the second capacitor 21 according to the control signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
