<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition derived from a novel food that is highly safe, hardly induces drug-resistant bacteria and exhibits a Helicobacter pylori-inhibiting action. <P>SOLUTION: It has been newly found that ingredients obtained by removing lipids from soybeans exhibit an inhibiting action on Helicobacter pylori adhesion on gastric epithelial cells and that the Helicobacter pylori adhesion-inhibiting action is caused by a soybean protein ingredient. The analysis of the soybean protein ingredient has made it clear that many of the protein ingredients exhibiting the Helicobacter pylori adhesion-inhibiting action have a molecular weight of at least 40,000 and at most 600,000. Therefore, the composition comprising at least the protein ingredients having a molecular weight of at least 40,000 and at most 600,000 contained in soybeans that inhibits adhesion of Helicobacter pylori on gastric epithelial cells is provided.
