PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric connector for panel mounting which can be mounted on the panel without using a tool or the like, and has a small size for coping with a restricted space on the panel. SOLUTION: The electric connector 12 is provided with a housing 16 which has the front fitting end 18, a first side face 30, and a second side face 32. The housing is constituted so as to be inserted into a panel aperture when the housing moves to its insertion position in the first direction, and movable in the aperture in the second direction A nearly orthogonal to the first direction. The housing 16 has a latch member 44, and has a first end 46 and a second end 48 which have been mounted on the opposed end of the first side face 30 of the housing 16. When first and second ends are joined to each other by a meandering latch beam 56, a latch element 58 is arranged on a forward surface of the latch beam 56, and when the housing 16 is positioned at a latch position, the latch element 58 retains the housing at the latch position by being locked to the inner edge of the panel aperture.
