PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic shock absorber which can manually, simply, and quickly fasten an elastic partition member or the like without any tool and easily perform fastening control and stabilize fastening force and does not make the fastening member interfere with an outer cylinder and a damper cylinder. SOLUTION: In the hydraulic shock absorber having an accumulator A in the damper cylinder 2, the hydraulic shock absorber comprises a connecting rod 5 having the accumulator A at an end of the damper cylinder 2, a cylindrical guide 4 slidably inserted into an outer periphery of the connecting rod 5, the elastic partition member 20 fixed on the outside of the guide 4, a gaseous chamber 8 formed on the inside of the elastic partition member 20, and an oil chamber 8 formed on the outside of the elastic partition member 20. A ring-shaped groove 24 is formed on both ends of the guide 4, both ends of the elastic partition member 20 are fitted into the ring-shaped groove 24, and both ends of the elastic partition member 20 are fastened in the ring-shaped groove 24 by a garter spring 22 or an elastic band 25.
