PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grooving device for the freezing road surface capable of cutting grooves in the direction of the width of the road, removing the cutted ice pieces in the direction of the width of a vehicle to continuously travel over a long distance and cutting lateral grooves on the freezing road surface. SOLUTION: The grooving device for the freezing road surface is so constituted that it is equipped with a height adjusting mechanism 5 for the freezing road surface, a downward pressure adjusting mechanism 6 to the road surface and an angle adjusting mechanism 7 of a tilting posture to the traveling direction, it includes a body frame 2 fixed to the back section of a snow removing blade B through a detachable mechanism 24, a pair of right and left sprockets 26 and 26 making vicinities of both ends of the body frame 2 as bearing sections 25 and 25 are incorporated into the body frame 2 and, at the same time, an endless chain 3 projecting hooked claws 31 and 31 enabling the lateral grooves M to cut is wound in an open belt-shape between both sprockets 26 and 26 and that one of both right and left sprockets 26 and 26 is connected to a rotary driving source 4 providing rotary driving force in a predetermined direction.
