PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cell preservative, a tissue preservative, an organ preservative, a protein conjugate-forming agent or the like comprising as an effective ingredient a polyphenol that can inhibit decomposition of the polyphenol, generation of precipitation, discoloration of a solution or generation of hydrogen peroxide. SOLUTION: The polyphenol solution comprises 0.0025-0.05 wt% (25-500 ppm) of high purity epigallocatechin gallate, 0.001-0.02 wt% (10-200 ppm) of ascorbic acid or a metal ascorbate and 0.001-0.02 wt% (10-200 ppm) of potassium disulfite.
