PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To certainly lead sheets of paper to the surface of a platen, to position them on a platen surface correctly, and to realize high accuracy printing. SOLUTION: A pressing roller 54 is supported by a swingable arm 39 such that a tangential plane passing through a contact position of a feed roller 53 and the pressing roller 54 crosses a platen surface 38a at the angle of 1-20°from the upper part. While a slope 38b which rises towards the platen surface in a transfer direction is formed at the end of the platen surface 38a, the platen surface 38a is arranged at the almost same plane with a tangential plane which connects the undersurface of the pressing roller 54 to a contact position of discharge rollers 55 and 56, and at least the portion of the platen surface 38a which faces an ink jet head 41 is parallel to the nozzle surface of the ink jet head 41.
