PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a buff of a separable type, which protects a coating target surface from being scratched by edges thereof when an erect corner portion or a warped curved surface is polished, and allows the edges to be separated from a cushioning portion. SOLUTION: According to the structure of the buff, a shrinking means 21 is arranged along a disk-shaped circumferential portion 18, and a mounting portion 24 for mounting a cushion pad 4 thereon, and a frame 25 having elastic flexibility are arranged on a surface opposite to a polishing surface 17. The circumferential portion 18 is shrinked by the shrinking means 21, thereby arranging an aperture 26 relating to a coaxial line above the mounting portion 24, and providing a curved portion 29 on the circumference of the polishing surface 17.
