A sliding door gear, especially for a cupboard, is fitted to the top of the door and is partially enclosed by an overlapping cover. A spiral spring (14) is tensioned by the opening action, and the closing action is controlled by a hydraulic damper (8). The damper has two tilting catches which engage a vertical pin (4) fitted to the fixed frame, and the door is further guided by pairs of wheels (5).
