PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system authenticating method for ensuring the security of a system which controls a device connected to a computer through a device driver by an application program installed in the computer, with respect to a system authenticating method for authenticating the system which controls the device connected to the computer through the device driver by the application program installed in the computer. SOLUTION: Disclosed is the system authenticating method of authenticating the device (112) connected to the computer (111) through the device driver (121) by the application program (122) installed in the computer (111), wherein the authentication is carried out by both the device (112) and device driver (121) and/or both the device driver (121) and application program (122) by using a designated ciphering system.
