PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a further calculation load reduction method because calculation load reduction effect is insufficient because uniform light source processing is applied to a polygon inside the same drawing target object in a conventionally provided method using a simplified model having a small polygon number to the drawing target object because the drawing target object distant from a viewpoint generally has a small area occupying a screen, in a method for reducing a load on generation processing of a three-dimensional computer graphics image to improve a frame rate. SOLUTION: This image generation device has: a light source calculation expression selection means selecting a light source calculation expression by a distance between the viewpoint and each vertex of the polygon, and vertex processing priority set to each the vertex of the polygon included in a model expressing the drawing target object; and a light source processing means performing light source calculation processing on the basis of the light source expression selected by the light source expression selection means.
