PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for regenerating a coating liquid for an intermediate layer of an electrophotographic photoreceptor deteriorated by long-term storage or long-term use to a state similar to the initial state, to thereby provide an intermediate layer of an electrophotographic photoreceptor excellent in film uniformity even if the coating liquid after long-term storage or long-term use is used, to further provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor free of occurrence of abnormal images such as surface stain and black spots and providing good images excellent in environmental stability even in long-term repetitive use by manufacturing the photoreceptor using the coating liquid, and to provide an image forming apparatus equipped with the electrophotographic photoreceptor and a process cartridge. SOLUTION: In the method for regenerating the coating liquid for an intermediate layer of an electrophotographic photoreceptor containing an N-alkoxymethylated nylon, the coating liquid containing the N-alkoxymethylated nylon is filtered in a clouded and/or thickened state as compared with the initial state with a filter having an effective pore diameter of≤3μm.
