The invention relates to a method of positioning a radio-navigation signal receiver, comprising the following steps, namely: a step consisting in predicting, for a plurality of terrestrial positions and time values, the reception characteristics of signals transmitted by radio-navigation signal sources, as a function of the positions of said sources, electromagnetic wave propagation models and topographic knowledge of the environment of each position; a step in which the receiver receives radio-navigation signals; a step consisting in measuring the reception characteristics of the signals received by the receiver; and a step consisting in processing the real measured characteristics and the predicted characteristics in order to supply receiver positioning information.
