The electrical energy supply to field equipment is provided by an AC power supply (20)coupled to a multicore cable (10) with interconnected cores (1) and organised as two bundles. An iron yoke (30) is located between the bundles and wound on the yoke is a secondary coil (31) that connects with an item of field equipment in an automation system. The unit transfers power by electromagnetic inductive coupling.
