The exercise stick has two handles (1) provided close to the ends (3) of the stick and designed to move laterally against spring forces produced by spiral springs (4,5) mounted axially on both sides of the handles at each end of the stick. The handles are fixed at the ends of telescopic rods (8) which are resiliently fixed in the rod and come out of the centre piece (2) thereof.
