<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus and an image-forming method effectively correcting variation in image density or variation in gradation reproducibility for a short period or for a long period in a four-color mode or a six-color mode. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus being selectable between the four-color mode forming images using only cyan, magenta, yellow and black toner and the six-color mode forming images using light cyan and light magenta toner in addition to the four-color toner, selection is automatically made between density correction and gradation correction in the four-color mode and the density correction and the gradation correction in the six-color mode in accordance with an operation mode of the image-forming apparatus. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
